VISIT TO PORT PERRY HIGH SCHOOL.

It was my privilege to visit the Port Perry High School on October 6^th.and to share my story

of survival with 3 classes. The first class was with the Grade 12 class on, “Families living

and working in a diverse society.”

The second was with the Grade 11: “Child Care” class and the third was with the Grade 11 “Parenting class”

What an excellent group of students they all were and I enjoyed sharing with them and answering

 all their questions on my survival from child abuse and to hear their response to the dangers

 children are facing in being over exposed to violence on videos and war games.

Their teacher, Nancy Smith has become a real friend of mine and she is more than an educator

She really invests in the lives of her students.

We took some pictures but, sadly they didn’t all turn out but, here are the one’s that came out.

On Oct.6th I will be in a High School in Eastern Ontario forthe whole day, speaking to several classes on the subject of child abuse and family violence.

I will be sharing my story of the years I suffered as a victim of severe child abuse and the steps I had to take to become the survivor that I am today.

I will also be dealing with dating violence and how important it is to make the right choices in dating relationships.

MY theme will be "YOUR PAST DOES NOT HAVE TO DETERMINE YOUR FUTURE." and how important it is to deal with hurt and pain now because, if you don't deal with it now you will face it later and it will effect every relationship in your life.
